The 2017 EPRD Summer Concert Series begins TOMORROW!

Summer is here and it is time to get the 2017 EPRD Summer Concert Series under way!  This is our 20th season and we have seven great Lake House concerts lined up for you.

Our first concert will be June 7, and then every other Wednesday through Aug. 30. Concerts will begin at 5:00, with the headline act's performance beginning at 7:00.

These concerts are free admission, all ages, picnic-style events. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, food and drink, and join in on Evergreen's best summer fun!

Look for our new stage and sound system provided by our Main Event Sponsor, Honey Smoked Salmon! This sponsorship has allowed us to make improvements to make your concert experience even better!

In the past, we have had issues with concert guests setting up popups in the middle of the lawn. This is not allowed -- they block everytone's view behind you. The only pop-up allowed in the middle of the park is the sound engineer's tent. All other pop-ups should be set up at the edges of the park so you do not block anyone's view. Please help us with this request so we do not have to ban all pop-ups.

Once again, parking is scarce. VIP Parking is SOLD OUT for the season! There are 160 parking spots at the Lake House and 50 of these are used for VIP Parking. The remaining free spots will fill up by 4:00. We will have shuttles from the Wulf Rec Center and from Christ the King Church. The shuttles run regularly and bring you right to the park gates. The shuttles run until 9:15 every concert.

See you there!

What a great concert season!

Just wanted to drop everyone a note of thanks for making my final season as Producer of the EPRD Summer Concert Series such a memorable one!

I want to thank the Evergreen Lake House staff, and specifically Brad Bednar, Lorna Bleck, and Christine Dove.  You have been a great bunch to work with and your management of the facility has always made Evergreen Lake Presents' job an easy one.

I want to thank all of the businesses that have sponsored this event over the years.  Without their monetary support, this event could not happen.

Thank you to all of the contributing artists. The artwork has beautifully reflected the Summer Concert Series experience.  And the musical performances have been stellar!

I want to thank the members of Evergreen Lake Presents - Scott Messler, Wolfgang Zinn, Kristen Bailey, Daniel Gibbins, Aaron Gibbins, Zack Hawkins, Sam Hutchins, and Roary Archibald. And of course, the founder of the event, Kent Roeder!

I must also mention all of the EPRD Directors during this time.  Dick Wulf, John Skeel, Scott Robson, and Ellen O'Connor.  Their continued support has been integral to our success.

And of course, the key ingredient, YOU!  All of the concert guests that have attended - rain or shine - for the 86 concerts I have been involved with.  You have been the best!!!

It has been my great pleasure to have produced the EPRD Summer Concert Series for the last 11 years.  I have many many great memories to take with me.  And of course I look forward to attending many more concerts in the future.

Kristen Bailey is taking on duties as Producer of the EPRD Summer Concert Series.  Next year is the 20th Anniversary season and I know it will be a special one!  I have every confidence that Kristen will take this event to new heights!  Best of luck to you - I will always be there if you need anything.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!  I can't say it enough ;^)

July 13th - Hosty Duo!!

This coming Wednesday, July 13th, come to Evergreen Lake House park as we welcome Hosty Duo!

Out of Norman, Oklahoma, witty guitar guru Mike Hosty and two piece drummer, Mike Byars entertain as the Hosty Duo with a show tour of 250 shows a year. Hosty simultaneously tears through gritty slide leads, blows harmonica and/or kazoo and uses foot pedals to stomp base lines. His guitar collection includes an 8 string instrument that allows him to thump three base strings with his thumb while he fingerpicks guitar. The Hosty Duo has developed a huge underground following of bikers, sorority gals, hippies, and truckers.

Our opening act is Digg. Digg started grooving in Denver in 2012, playing a variety of styles such as rock, funk, blues, and jazz. As the band grew they began to create their own unique style of rock and funk. Digg emphasizes melodic guitar harmonizing with grand keyboards, funky bass grooves, improv solos, and thought-provoking lyrics.

These concerts are free, all ages, picnic style events. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, food and drink, and join in on Evergreen's best summer fun!

June 29th - Lipbone Redding!!

This coming Wednesday, June 29th, come to Evergreen Lake House park as we welcome Lipbone Redding!

Lipbone Redding is far more than just his ability to make trombone sounds with his mouth and turns out not only to be a decent songwriter but an intelligent and skilled musician. Musically he's hard to pin down as Party On The Fire Escape sounds like he's tossed together a salad made up of Spanish Harlem, seventies soul, funk, a taste of New Orleans, and country music. Now it might sound like a bit of a train wreck when you say it, but he carries it all off without much difficulty.

Lipbone is like a good storyteller as his songs have the ability to evoke an image in your head of what he's singing about. So when he's singing about the "Party On The Fire Escape" it calls to mind all those images you've ever seen of New York City apartment buildings wrapped in rod-iron stair ways and their inhabitants sitting outside in a desperate search for a breeze on a hot summer's night. It's a rare thing these days when a songwriter is able to do this as well as Lipbone does, and it gives his music an extra dimension that elevates it above a good deal of what you usually hear.

Our opening act is Franny & the Jets. Drawing from some of Colorado's best young jazz musicians, Franny & the Jets performs as a duo, trio, quartet or quintet. The band's relaxed and entertaining show makes it a perfect backdrop for restaurants, bars, and other venues where live music is intended to draw and retain customers.
