Pamela Rhoades

We are thrilled to feature Pamela Rhoades artwork entitled, Summer Song, as our promotion image for the 2013 EPRD Summer Concert Series.  Pamela is a regular attendee of the Summer Concert Series and she will be doing some "live painting" at this year's concerts.  Very cool ;^)

Born and raised in Tulsa, OK, Pamela was introduced to art as a child when an art center was built in her neighborhood.

"I practically lived there and explored many artistic mediums.  I went on to study art at Metropolitan State College of Denver and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1995.  I have shown work in galleries, and am currently working on local murals and sculpting.  I have also been working as a caricature artist.  I would call myself an intuitive artist expressing energy with line and color."

Highway 55

August 14th, traveling all the way from Georgia, we bring to the EPRD Summer Concert Series the Georgia Country Awards 2012 Band of the Year, Highway 55!

Highway 55 is an eclectic combination of musical talents and personalities.  All this combines for a band that has its finger on the pulse of the growing population of music lovers of all genres.  Realizing that everyday holds its own trials and tribulations, Highway 55 wants to ease those days with music that you will love to listen to and feel a connection to.

“We talk all the time about how none of us, or anybody we know, only has one type of music on their ipods.  I think today’s music lovers, like us, are into all kinds of music. So in our shows we cover anything from Hank Williams Jr. to Lady Gaga.  All these influences come together and make us who we are and it keeps it fun.”

The band’s first album, The Levee Sessions, is a mixture of Country and Southern Rock songs that represent the various types of music that the members relate too.  From the hard driving guitars of “Southern Nights” to the more poetic “Middle of Nowhere”, a song about Scott’s hometown of Fayetteville, Alabama, Highway 55 wanted to show that they listen, like and play all sorts of music.  For those who like sad old country songs “Bottle and My Bible” will be a favorite.  For those who like a little more drive in their music, the fast pace of “Rough” is sure to catch their ear.  One of the Band’s most requested songs has become “Little White Lines”, a song about drug use, rehab and redemption.

Hosty Duo

On June 5th, Hosty Duo returns to Evergreen to kickstart the 2013 EPRD Summer Concert Series. Unable to make their performance in 2012 due to a family emergency, they love playing the EPRD Summer Concert Series and they are looking forward to being back to the Lake House Park.

Having sold over 100,000 albums in their career, Hosty Duo has an extensive catalog of original music and they will keep you moving and laughing all evening long.  A favorite of the concert producers, we recommend that you DON'T MISS THIS SHOW ;^)

Out of Norman, Oklahoma, witty guitar guru Hosty and his side kick, two piece drummer, Michael "Tic Tac" Byars, entertain as the Hosty Duo with a tour schedule of 250 shows a year. Hosty simultaneously tears through gritty slide leads, blows harmonica and or Kazoo and uses foot pedals to stomp bass lines. His guitar collection includes an 8 string instrument that allows him to thump three bass strings with his thumb while he fingerpicks guitar. The Hosty Duo has developed a huge underground following of bikers, sorority gals, hippies and truckers."

Trout Steak Revival

With a great performance as an opening act in 2012, we have invited Trout Steak Revival back to headline this year's July 3rd concert.  Start your holiday weekend with a great evening of bluegrass at the Lake House!

Catch Trout Steak Revival live and you can't help but notice the band's gift to thrive in the moment. In 2008 the band formed, sparked by jam sessions with close friends during backpacking trips and backyard parties. The sounds of fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass, dobro, and accordion blend in TSR's bluegrass-inspired mountain music. While each member of the band composes original tunes, harmonic contributions are added by the entire band, following the bluegrass tradition and creating a unique sound. Scores of Colorado venues have hosted TSR since first honing their sound at the legendary Bucksnort Saloon. The five members hail from Colorado and the Midwest. TSR's lyrics visit themes of love, loss, settling into a new home, and other meditations, wrapped in thoughtful harmonies and conversation between their strings. The music comes from the heart and goes to the heart, whether you're listening to a live performance or on your car stereo, as the golden light of the last hours of the day paint the scenery outside your windshield.

TSR released its debut self-titled album in October of 2010, producing and recording the full length album themselves in a cabin in the foothills of Colorado. In just a few short years the band has built a steady and enthusiastic fan base. TSR performed at the historic Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition in June of 2011, followed by a tour of the Midwest, hitting a few hometowns along the way.

Sticky Mulligan

A first time headliner at the EPRD Summer Concert Series, Sticky Mulligan caught our attention with their soulful, funky original tunes.  We look forward to June 19th when Sticky Mulligan makes the long trip from Western Colorado to Evergreen!

Sticky Mulligan started out as a one man band back in 2008, performing at venues and festivals all over the east coast. From Maryland up to New York, North Carolina down to Tennessee, and back up again. Since releasing his debut album “Showtime” in November 2009, Sticky Mulligan has grown into the four piece band it is today. They are based out of western Colorado, and are making quite a name for themselves on the Colorado music scene.

The song “Recipe” reached #12 on the W.T.M.D Baltimore Unsigned charts in 2009. D. J.’s at K.V.N.F in western Colorado named it in the top 30 albums of 2011. They have done interviews on stations throughout the country, and were recently featured in the spring/summer 2012 issue of High Notes magazine alongside Joe Cocker! They are maintaining a full performance schedule while based in Western Colorado. This past summer saw them performing at Glenwood Springs Summer of Music, Redstone Concert Series, Cherry Days, Mountain Harvest Festival and Marble Fest as well as many other venues throughout Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.

Be on the Lookout for a brand new music video for the single “Rich Man” to be released in Oct. of 2012. Also, keep your ears peeled for a new album to be recorded in the fall/winter and a tour to follow.  Great things are ahead for this young/talented group based out of Paonia Colorado.

Mighty High Band

The Mighty High Band was formed in the Fall of 2008 with the intention of focusing on Jerry Garcia's other bands. The members of Mighty High were in other Grateful Dead cover bands through the years, but there are already many in Colorado so it was hard to be noticed in the pack.  At the time, there were no other bands focusing on Jerry’s other projects, so they decided to form The Mighty High Band to fill that void.  The Mighty High Band is the only band in Colorado that focuses solely on Jerry Garcia’s other projects outside of the Grateful Dead.

Jerry Garcia, best known for his role as the leader of the Grateful Dead, was a musician’s musician.  He loved to play music and he loved great songwriting.  He had other bands outside of the Grateful Dead that focused on playing great songs that the Grateful Dead did not play.  The Mighty High Band plays all those great tunes that Jerry played in the Jerry Garcia Band, Legion of Mary, Garcia and Saunders and Reconstruction. The song selections from those bands cover a broad spectrum of musical genres including blues, rock, reggae, traditional folk, Motown, country, and R&B.  Many people that see The Mighty High Band have no idea that the songs come from Jerry Garcia’s songs in his other bands.  The wide variety of songs will please not only the Deadheads, but everyone else that likes to go out and dance to some great tunes.

July 31st we bring Mr. David Booker and the Swingtet to the EPRD Summer Concert Series.  If you like to swing dance, this will be the night for you.

"We have been playing Jump Blues and Jazzy Swing, with a touch of Rockabilly for many years now, and are a regular feature on "Sunday Swing" nights at Denver's famous Mercury Cafe...we started playing there in 1998, and are still going strong. We excel at playing full blown rockin' boogie sessions.
